Pineapple Duo (Upside Down & Charlotte Rothschild)
2014
Mixed media: paper, plaster, wire

When we were growing up my father never allowed pineapple in the house. He had spent time in a WWII POW camp in the Philippines.

Many of my pineapple breastplate's names are varieties of the fruit: for example, Charlotte Rothschild is a vintage variety grown in India; Pernambuco Blue is a very sweet, white fleshed Brazilian variety that is not shipped to the USA.
